Il Canale in Georgetown

Met up with two friends from the MBA Program and their wives for lunch at Il Canale in Georgetown. It's amazing how much has changed in Georgetown, and how much stays the same. New: Athleta and Nike stores, a number of different restaurants. Same: crowds of slow-moving tourists, difficulty finding parking  and incomprehensible lines at mediocre restaurants.
Affumicata
Tomato sauce, smoked mozzarella, basil and arugula with bell peppers.
Italiano
White pizza with prosciutto, arugula and parmigiana.
Ricotta with meat sauce.
Ciliegina Salad
Arugula salad with grilled zucchini, olives, cherry tomatoes, carrots, smoked mozzarella slice and buffalo mozzarella cheese.

The food was good, albeit overpriced. I feel like a number of the dishes were higher priced than the last time I went there for lunch. The pizzas are 10 inches and in the $14-17 range. The salad, while lovely and light, was $13 and the gnocchi was $18. The pizzas are good and they do take reservations, two positives in the Il Canale column. There's a number of negatives to balance. If there's a loud party next to you, forget your conversation, the din will be too overwhelming.
